Seasonal Activities

The Town of Spanish hosts an environment that is exceptional
for recreational activities all year round.

Snowmobiling is a popular winter sport in this area with hundreds of kilometers of
groomed trails that link to the Trans-Canada trail system.  To ride the groomed trails,
one must purchase a Trail Permit from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs
(OFSC) which can be purchased from the Spanish River Snowmobile Club.

For more information, go to Snowmobile Trails

Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, ice-fishing, salmon fishing, and
hunting are all great ways to get close to nature.  Spanish is surrounded by in-land lakes
and forests. In addition at the very heart of Lake Huron is the world famous
Whalesback and North Channel.
